What in the actual fuck Marte! If you are going to use PEDs you better make it count! At least be more than just average. Or maybe pass some off to Cutch, he may benefit from a little juice.
Earlier today news broke that the Pirates OF and new center fielder, Starling Marte, was suspended 80 games for testing positive for Nandrolone, a substance that has been banned for quite some time in the MLB. Marte will not only be suspended for 80 games but due to MLB PED policy, he will also be bared from the 2017 postseason, which is a huge kick in the nards and at this point the postseason isn’t even in the the conversation.
Marte has started of the season very average posting a BA of .241, 13 hits and 2 Home runs. Either someone sold him some weak shit, or he isn’t using them right.
Seriously man how stupid can you be, you just got promoted to center field because you are the fastest, most talented person on the team. The entire city was talking about this move before spring training even started, questioning if you could handle the stress and concentration it takes to play center. The answer was clearly, no.
Quick side note: The man has like 2% body fat to begin with, how did they not break at least 50 needless off in his ass?
Marte did end up making a generic public apology that ended with “God bless you”. GOD BLESS US IS RIGHT MARTE!!!!! God better bless us if we want any chance of even smelling fall baseball. In fact, God better lace up the cleats and jog out to center every night for the bucs to even be close to the neighborhood of 90ish wins this year.
Anyway here is that statement.
“I have been informed that I have tested positive in one of the tests that are regularly done in my job. In this very difficult moment I apologize to my family, the Pittsburgh Pirates, my teammates, my fans, and baseball in general. Neglect and lack of knowledge have led me to this mistake with the high price to pay of being away from the field that I enjoy and love so much. With much embarrassment and helplessness, I ask for forgiveness for unintentionally disrespecting so many people who have trusted in my work and have supported me so much. I promise to learn the lesson that this ordeal has left me. God bless you.”
Ehhhh we’ve heard that before from everyone who has ever been caught using PEDs, cough cough A-Rod. It’s not even worth commenting on.
Question Marks About the OF:
In my personal opinion I would like to see McCutchen move back to center, almost a no brainier. Cutch has the baseball IQ that will allow him to transition well back to his old position. As for Polanco, I would keep him in left. Why? Because moving him all around would confuse him to much. Moving the young fielder back to right would only be doing him a huge disservice. Then we need to address the gaping hole in right and I think the best fit would be the “duct tape” of the team, the one guy who can do it all and then some, our boy Jay-Hay. Harrison already has proven many times that he can play the position and play it damn well.
This is what I would like to see the Pirates put out on the field
1. P- Regular Rotation
2. C- Cervelli
3. 1B- Bell
4. 2B- Frazier
5. 3B- Freese
6. SS- Mercer
7. LF- Polanco
8. CF- McCutchen
9. RF- Harrison
Obviously the Pirates know what the best squad would be and I hope they put out a group that will make us forget Marte to some extent.
Anyway I hope he realizes what effect this will have on his team. Marte defiantly wasn’t thinking about his them one bit. All I can say what an idiot, just an absolute idiot.
On the upside Penguins play the Blue Jackets tonight and are up (3-0) on Columbus and looking for that clean sweep.
Let’s GO PENS!
